iPad Killer?
Posted by Jared Borne | 10 May 2010
We first speculated that since HP bought out Palm, they would come out wth a webOS tablet. According to many industry insiders, this appears to be more of a reality now. An insider at HP tells us that a webOS tablet under the code name HP Hurricane could be released the third quarter of this year. Not too long ago--actually, only three weeks back--HP was still bragging about its HP Slate, a Windows 7 based tablet that was supposed to become the new iPad killer. However, early reviews suggested that the HP slate should just kill itself and that's exactly what appears to have happened. "It is a really interesting device, but runs as slow as a turtle," says Los Angeles industry analyst Paul Mueller. "I think they could have had something with a faster processor, but that would have led to less battery life than the Slate already had." Like us, Mr. Mueller looks forward to the HP Hurricane. "If rumors of this tablet are true, this can be a killer device--webOS is an outstanding operating system for a tablet." Source: Examiner

Google Buzz

So Myspace, Twitter, and Facebook isn't eating up enough of your life? To the rescue - Google Buzz!Google Buzz is a new way to start conversations about the things you find interesting. It's built right into Gmail, so you don't have to peck out an entirely new set of friends from scratch — it just works. If you think about it, there's always been a big social network underlying Gmail. Buzz brings this network to the surface by automatically setting you up to follow the people you email and chat with the most. We focused on building an easy-to-use sharing experience that richly integrates photos, videos and links, and makes it easy to share publicly or privately (so you don't have to use different tools to share with different audiences). Plus, Buzz integrates tightly with your existing Gmail inbox, so you're sure to see the stuff that matters most as it happens in real time. Official Google Blog

Android OS 2.1
Posted by Jared Borne | 09 Feb 2010
Direct from Motorola's Facebook
"Motorola Hi all-- we know you are frustrated with the lack of details regarding Android software upgrades and we sincerely apologize for not being able to share info sooner. We're happy to relay the 2.1 upgrade to DROID will start to roll out this week, and we will have more information to share on other device upgrades later this week as well. Thanks for your patience and continued support."
Some features include:
Google Goggles is now pre-installed. The browser's now multitouch enabled, just like Google Maps 3.4. The news and weather widgets introduced on the Nexus One are included.
Some features everyone wants, but no go:
No Flash. No new look to home screen. No active wallpapers.
I am not even sure what good will come from this update besides the Multi touch browser. A bit of hype was surrounding this update as bringing new features, but it appears to fall short. Time shall tell.

Optimizing your computer!
Posted by Jared Borne | 06 Nov 2009
With todays computers, speed is everything. Daily browsing, software testing, and everyday use can eventually slow your computer! In this article, I will show you how to keep your computer clean and fast. First, I would beg you to ditch Norton, McAfee, or any of those resource hogs that some refer to "antivirus clients". Microsoft has released a new antivirus and anti-spyware client FREE to all people with genuine copies of Windows XP, Vista, and 7. After testing, I am loving what Microsoft put out for its simple, yet effective operation. Not only will it help protect your computer, it appears to be very streamlined and lightweight. Click here to give it a try. After 350,000,000 downloads, most would agree Piriform's CCleaner is one of the top disk cleaning utilities on the internet. CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware! :) I would also like to mention the great built-in Add/Remove Programs utility as well as the System Restore removal utility. Download the latest build here. *** You can help Piriform out by installing the Yahoo toolbar, but I would suggest unchecking the box during installation. Last but not least, my suggestion for defragging your computer would be CCleaners sister program, Defraggler. Use Defraggler to defrag your entire hard drive, or individual files - unique in the industry. This compact and portable Windows application supports NTFS and FAT32 file systems. Not only is it fast, but it is also very lightweight. Defragging keeps your files neat so your computer does not need to search as much to find the data on your harddrive(s). Download the latest build here. *** You can help Piriform out by installing the Yahoo toolbar, but I would suggest unchecking the box during installation.

Droid by Motorola $150 - Sears Wireless
Posted by Jared Borne | 06 Nov 2009
It seems that you can learn something new every day, and personally I learned that Sears sells cellphones. Now normally I am not so sure I would be ready to head over to Sears for my cellphone needs, but this offer is similar to the Best Buy pricing. Well similar in the fact that the rebates are not mail-in but instant. The Sears offer though is $50 cheaper than everywhere else, which means that new Verizon Wireless customers can pick up a Motorola Droid for $149.99. This price is after instant discounts, which means nothing to fill out and no gift card to wait 6-8 weeks for. And that is just $149.99, well $149.99 plus tax. And on top of that they are even throwing in free shipping via Fed-Ex. Of course, I should point out that according to I4U, the Sears Wireless website is being run by Simplexity. Those are the same folks that run Wirefly. But still — Sears Wireless.
